Sal DeGeorge, OMI, Named Commissioner for 2004 General Chapter |
| Fr. Salvatore "Sal" DeGeorge, OMI, has been appointed by
the General Administration to serve as on the commission that will plan the
next General Chapter of the Oblates to take place in 2004. He
currently serves as Area Superior of the Southwest Area and as Vicar for
Vocations. His office is in San Antonio.
A native of Houston, TX, Sal studied at St. Anthony's Seminary in San Antonio. After his novitiate in Sarita, TX, he completed degrees in philosophy and theology at the Angelicum in Rome where he was ordained in 1965. Among the ministries he has assumed are the following: professor and Rector at St. Anthony's Seminary; Rector of the Cathedral in Brownsville, TX; pastor of St. Patrick's in Houston. Besides his Roman degrees, he also has a Master's Degree in Counseling from Loyola University in Chicago. He is also fluent in Spanish, French, and Italian.
