[Zambia]ANOTHER OBLATE ORDINATION IN ZAMBIA

Father Godfrey Mpundu Sekula, OMI,  was ordained to the priesthood on June 21, 2003,  at Good Shepherd Church in Kabwata, a district of Lusaka, capital of Zambia.

Fr. Godfrey hails from Kasama, a city in the Northern Province of the country. Bishop Edward Risi, OMI, from the Keimos-Upington Diocese of South Africa, Godfrey’s novice master in 1996, was the ordaining bishop.  During his homily, Bishop Risi had the opportunity to reinforce some of the values he had shared with Godfrey and his fellow novices during this pivotal year in an Oblate’s formation.

Godfrey’s mother, Cecilia, his sister Agnes, along with his brothers Peter, Boniface and William (his twin brother), participated with enthusiasm in the ceremony.

Presently a member of the Oblate Community in Lukulu, he spent three years at Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio.  “I am very grateful to God! I can’t believe how great all the people were towards me! I am humbled by their love! I am touched by their faith!” he exclaimed.
