World's Oldest Oblate Celebrates 100th Birthday

 
     
     
  On December 29, 2002, FR. JOSEPH LYONS, OMI, the oldest living member of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, celebrated his 100th birthday at the Madonna Residence in San Antonio, TX, where he resides.  A more festive birthday party took place on January 3.

Fr. Joe pronounced his first vows as an Oblate on August 2, 1924, and was ordained to the priesthood on June 7, 1929.
