OBLATE DEACON MEETS THE POPE |

| Oblate seminarian, Deacon Salvador "Chava" Gonzalez, has
been pursuing his studies in the Eternal City for the past four years.
As a token of their appreciation for his assistance in ministry at the
Missionary Center in Rome, the center gave Chava a special ticket for a
papal audience during which he was able to ask the Holy Father's blessing on
his Oblate brothers throughout the world. The young deacon will complete his studies in June and return to the United States to prepare for his ordination to the priesthood, scheduled for January 24, 2004, at Sacred Heart Church in Oakland, CA. He will do a pastoral internship at Nuestra Seņora del Carmen Parish in Lowell, MA.
