Reminder:

Two Priestly Ordinations Scheduled in June

 

     

On Saturday, June 14, Jonathan Closner, OMI, will be ordained a priest at St. Cecilia Parish in San Antonio, TX, by Bishop Michael D. Pfeifer, OMI, of San Angelo, TX.

 

 

 

On Saturday, June 28, Walter Butor, OMI, will receive the Order of Priesthood from Cardinal Francis George, OMI, of Chicago, at St. Benedict the African Parish  in Chicago, IL.

Busy Summer for Oblate Scholastics

The summer break from classes is a time when Oblate scholastics can get some interesting new experiences in ministry and education.  During this summer, they will have the following assignments:

 
     
 
  • OBLATE HOUSE OF THEOLOGY, CHICAGO
  • Walter Butor and Jonathan Closner should be receiving their first assignments after their ordinations in June.
  • Singini Nacidze will be doing Clinical Pastoral Education at Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio, living at San Juan de Los Lagos.
  • Jim Chambers will be doing Clinical Pastoral Education at St. Mary's hospital in Duluth, living at Holy Family Parish.
  • Efren Castillo will continue a program in Canada. 
  • Juan Ayala will be working with Fr.  Jim Erving in the Lowell Vocation Office, living at the Center of Mission & Contemplation.
  • Fernando Velazquez will helping at be at Sacred Heart Church & living with the Oblates at Garin residence
  • George Kombe Ngolwe will work with the Oblate Justice and Peace Office in D.C.
  •  
  • GEORGE SEXTON HOUSE IN SAN ANTONIO
  • Karl Davis  will be leaving in late June for Zambia for a year-long pastoral internship
  • Quilin Bouzi will be studying Spanish,  in Cuernevaca, Mexico.
  • Francisco Gomez will continue his ministry in Tijuana, Mexico.
  • Porfirio Garcia will take part in an English program at St. Thomas University in Miami, while residing at Blessed Joseph Gerard Community in Miramar.
  • Hipólito Olea  will be returning to Mexico, as well as taking part in a DeMazenod program for perpetual vows in Bolivia.
  • Vincent Sakala will be doing Clinical Pastoral Education at Jackson Memorial Medical Center in Miami, while residing at Blessed Joseph Gerard Community in Miramar.
  • Patrick Chomba will be studying French at Trois Rivères, Québec, in Canada.
