Two Zambian Oblates currently studying theology in the United States received the Order of Deacon on November 1, 2003.  Singini Nacidze and Vincent Sakala were ordained by Bishop Raymundo Peña, Bishop of Brownsville, TX, in the chapel Assumption Seminary in San Antonio, TX.

 

Deacon Singini is in his fourth year of theological studies at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, and a member of the Oblate House of Theology community.  He hopes to complete his work on Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Theology degrees in June, 2004.  Then he will return to Zambia for a pastoral internship.

 

Deacon Vincent will finish his Master of Divinity degree at Oblate School of  Theology in San Antonio in December, after which he will return to Zambia for a pastoral internship.  He is part of the Sexton House scholasticate community.
