Father Armand Mathew, OMI

At a surprise party for his 81st birthday on October 21, 2003, The Center for Civic Engagement at the University of Texas in Brownsville awarded to Fr. Armand Mathew, OMI, the Paloma Award, citing his "lifelong commitment to community service and social justice."

Fr. Armand, former director of the center, is now in charge of the Center's community relations and voting/civic responsibilities.  He was also recognized by the Student Government Association and the Staff and Academic senates.
