OUR LADY OF THE OZARKS ALUMNI PLAN REUNION |
||
|
Ever since the establishment of the first Oblate seminary program in the United States in San Antonio, TX, in 1902, hundreds of young men have experienced Oblate formation in various parts of the United States. The minor seminary, or "juniorate" as the Oblates called it, was a program designed primarily for high school and junior college students to discern their vocation in life. Many chose to become Oblate priests and brothers. Most of them have followed other successful and rewarding vocations in their lives.
In 1944, the Oblates of the former Central Province established the College of Our Lady of the Ozarks in a former Methodist college in Carthage, Missouri. The school ceased to operate in 1971.
However, the memories of "OLO" linger in the hearts of the alumni. Therefore, on June 25-27, 2004, anyone who studied for any length of time at all at the Carthage school is invited to an "ALL-CLASS REUNION." The reunion will take place at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, IL. Further information may be had at the special Our Lady of the Ozarks web page in the alumni section of www.omiusa.org. Click on the arrow to go to that
page.
