Long-Time Oblate Associate and Honorary Oblate Dies in San Fernando

Margaret Phipps of Mission Hill, CA, age 83, suffered a severe brain hemorrhage on Tuesday morning and died at 5:00 p.m. that same day, February 1, 2005.

Oblates will remember Margaret first as an Honorary Oblate who supported Oblate ministry for most of her life. She gave her time and talent to the Oblate parishes in San Fernando, CA, especially St. Ferdinand's. Margaret spent a lot of time on fundraising for the missions. She was very active in the birth and development of an Oblate Associates group in the Los Angeles area. Above all she was a woman of great faith. In her silent ways, she was an inspiration to Oblates. Margaret will be missed.  Please join us in praying for her eternal rest with her loving God.
