Remembering

Pope John Paul II

From the Provincial of the United States Province

To all our Missionary Oblates, Associates, Honorary Oblates, Co-Workers, Relatives and Friends,

We join the whole Church in mourning the loss of our beloved Pope John Paul II.  We find ourselves in the Octave of Easter when we celebrate more intensely than ever the power and joy of the Ressurection of Jesus Christ.  We know that in the face of death, Pope John Paul II would have us remember more the hope-filled dimension of our faith, the mystery of our new life in Christ, the glory and blessedness to which we are called.  This is our cause for joy even as we feel the sorrow of losing so great a leader for the Church and for our world.  We bring John Paul to all our prayer these days, in gratitude for the gift of his life and in supplication that he may rest in peace.

Easter Peace to all of you!

Father Louis Lougen, OMI
