From Buffalo with love

From The Buffalo News, October 30, 2005

Buffalonians don't normally wear bags on their heads, but they do wear their teams on their sleeves. Now, Buffalo gear is popping up in New Orleans.

A New Orleans church received a special shipment Monday from Buffalo - a tractor-trailer full of clothes, toiletries, canned goods and other items.

Product: Classic Crewneck SweatshirtSince the delivery, everywhere the Rev. Tony Rigoli turns, he sees reminders of his native Buffalo - Canisius College sweat shirts, Kenmore West High School T-shirts, and, of course, plenty of Bills stuff.

"It's so funny to see people around the streets wearing Buffalo clothes," said Rigoli, a pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. The Hurricane Katrina relief shipment was organized by St. Rose of Lima parish in Buffalo, where Rigoli had formerly been assigned, and the Food Bank of Western New York, which threw in jars of Ilio DiPaolo and Chef's spaghetti sauce and Anchor Bar chicken wing sauce.

Let's just pray the donated clothing didn't include any red, white and blue Zubaz pants.
