Pre-Novitiate Candidates Begin School Year

The school year for Oblate candidates in the pre-novitiate programs has begun with a formal ritual of welcoming and commitment to the program.

This year, there are candidates in Buffalo, NY, and in Tijuana, BC, Mexico.  The pre-novitiate program in Miramar, FL, has been suspended this year because there were no candidates.

In Buffalo, returning students Feliciano Lopez and Ray Cook have welcomed Daniel Pedraza who had spent two years in the Tijuana Program.  The director of the program is Fr. George Kirwin, OMI, assisted by Fr. Jim Erving, OMI.

In Tijuana, the only “veteran” in the program is Victor Emanuel Patricio.  He has given a hearty “bienvenido” to two new candidates: Jorge Mauleon and Rey David Cruz.  The formation team in Tijuana is made up of Oblate Fathers Tom Rush and Gerry McGovern.
