Brother Jim Chambers, OMI, ordained a deacon

Bro. James Chambers, an Oblate currently studying theology in Chicago, received the Order of Deacon on February 3, 2006. He was ordained by Bishop Joseph Perry, Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago, at Holy Rosary Parish on the south side of Chicago. Among the concelebrants were Oblates from the Chicago area, and the Provincial, Father Louis Lougen, OMI.

Bro. Jim will serve as Deacon at Holy Rosary where he has been ministering since returning from his year of pastoral internship in Zambia.

Currently in his fourth year of theological studies at the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, and a member of the Oblate House of Theology community, he hopes to complete his work on his Master of Divinity degree in May 2006.  The scheduled date for his ordination to the Priesthood is August 12, 2006, in his hometown of Murphysboro, IL.
