Immaculata Retreat Center prepares for new opening

Construction on the Immaculata Retreat Center in Willimantic, Connecticut is coming down the home stretch.  Director Paulette Bard and her office staff have been maintaining the day-to-day operations from a trailer adjacent to the construction site.

It’s been a long vigil in cramped quarters – maintaining contacts, booking retreats for the coming year and overseeing the details of the actual building project.

The contours of the new facility are rapidly coming into focus.  The new 3 story wing which will house most of the retreatants’ rooms rises gracefully in the midst of the larger retreat house complex.

Interior work is progressing at a rapid pace.  Meanwhile, the Staff is meeting regularly to lay-out the various components of the retreats that will inaugurate Immaculata’s first season as a completely renovated/refurbished retreat facility.

We will open on April 13th by hosting 2 separate groups of retreatants; they will fill our 73 room facility and allow us to observe the new plant running at maximum efficiency.
