Our Seminaries The Oblates in the United States rely on a variety of programs to meet the educational, spiritual and communal needs of each of their candidates. |

| Entry level formation programs are established in Miami, Florida for men who are college age. While at St. John Vianney College Seminary, candidates complete a degree of their choosing and some required course work in Philosophy. They also participate in the variety of ministries the Missionary Oblates are a part of in the Miami area. | ||
Candidates who have completed their undergraduate degree or who are in their later 20's or older, gather in community in Buffalo, NY. While living in a parish staffed by the Oblates, these candidates complete their degrees and philosophical studies.
| The Oblates also offer a residential formation program in Tijuana, Mexico for those whom English is not their primary language. | ||
Once these studies are completed, the Novitiate year is offered in Godfrey, IL. This is a time of retreat, and greater awareness of oneself and the congregation. At its completion, candidates make a temporary profession of vows.

Theological Studies are continued at Catholic Theological Union of Chicago and Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio. Based on desire and aptitude, some candidates will study in Rome, Italy. Other schools of theology, worldwide, can also be considered.
