In which program(s)?

From high school in Bucksport through philosophy in Natick.

Where Now?

I retired as AT&T's executive vice president of public relations and advertising in 2003. Since then I have been writing business books and articles.

Comments

I was pleased to see so many familiar names here. Gerry Tetrault taught me to drive. Ray Tague was so supportive when I left the seminary to find myself. Claude and Ray Ouellette spent most of a very cold winter in Colebrook with me and just two other novices (Ron Chaput and Jimmy Espinosa). In the end, I was the last to leave. But I owe a lot to the Oblates.

I was so excited when Andy Beaule a classmate in 57 told me about this site! I read with enthusiasm all of the comments from many of my contemporaries and teachers: Fr. Tague, Fr. Arsenault, my cousin Denis Robitaille, Lalime!the hockey guy!, Julien Olivier, Lou!! my infamous admonitor at night! Remember those days guys? Builiding beds in the summer with Gerry Tetrault, our class reunion at Gerry's farm in Vt. All great memories. I met up with Pierre Laramee in Bankock Thailand in november of '06. What a great treat. We had great fun just as it was in the old days traveling on tghe bus at Christmas time and signing in the choir. I'm a Family Physician practiced in Manchester for 28 years, retired from there and left to teach in New Orleans for 6 years. Retired from there and now teach part time in a Caribbean medical school on the island of St. Martin. Love to hear from all of you. Count me in if you want to organize some kind of reunion. Ron

After leaving the novitiate, I earned a degree in accounting, joined the international accounting firm of KPMG and passed the CPA exam. I spent over 28 years with KPMG, most of that time as an audit partner, working in Portland ME and Paris France. When KPMG decided to leave Maine in 1994, I became a founding parrtner of Baker Newman Noyes with offices in Portland, Me and Manchester and Portsmouth NH. Since my retirement in 2001, I spend my time on the board of various nonprofits, writing, and traveling with my lovely wife, Mariette. And of course indulging my favorite passion, flyfishing. We have 2 children: Chris, a mechanical engineer who lives in Troy Michigan with his family and Celeste, an artist, currently living in Kittery ME. Chris and his wife have blessed us with 2 delightful grandchildren, Maddie, age 7, and Grady, age 5. One of my current writing project is a novel that oddly enough takes place in a seminary in Maine. I am so pleased to have located this site entirely by serendipity. It does not seem possible that over 50 years have passed since arriving in Bucksport. I think its time for a reunion? Busckport class of '60, what do you say?

I had four great years at St joe's. Th eeducation I received at the school prepared me very well for college and I am thankful for that. I am married, 4 kids, and 4 grandkids. Work fohethe state as teh Director of the Division of Program Integrity (we monitor the state's Medicaid Program for fraud and abuse). I am a WWII buff mostly interested in my father's infantry division and my uncle's coastal artillery unit. Occassionally I see Jim Robichaud who also graduated in 1970. Jim is the pastor of several small churches in the Dover-Foxcroft area. i will let him know about this site if he doesn't already.

My New Year's resolution was to track down some of my former classmates and I ran across this site during the course of my search. The Oblates have always played a major role in my family's history. An uncle who served in Lowell for years, a cousin and my brother and myself as seminarians. My of the priest who have served at St Jeanne D'Arc parish were close friends of my parents on both sides. They were all men I admired and they certainly had in impact in my life

Remember with great fondness the short but formative years I spent at Bucksport. I remember Fathers Guy, Vaillancourt, LaPlante, Sirois, Houle, Lirette etal. I remember peanut butter (bets) and molasses snacks. I remember the plastic necklaces of red, green and yellow colors. I remember a group of very nice young men of decency and moral fiber even in those difficult years of youth. God Bless every one of you!

Left to teach at the University of North Texas, Denton,Tx. We adopted our daughter Nena in 1966; we now have thee wonderful grandchildren. Reached the rank of Regents Professor, am now Regents-professor Emeritus. Retired in 1995. I wish we had an alumni reunion so I could thank all my professors, many of whom are now receiving their rewards: Desruisseaux, Lehoullier, Desmarais, Salvas, Labrie, Tremblay (visiting from Canada), Richard, Dufault,Baillargeon and many, many more. To ALL of them I say thank you, and let them know they are in my daily prayers.

I'm sure I missed many more. Please forgive me, but I remember ALL of you in my daily prayers. I'm a Eucharistic minister and have been since 1971, was a lector, much involved with the parish. Wehen we first came, we had abou5 200 Catholics in town, but 65 "other churches". Now we have 2500+ families, an elementary school, and another parish of 1500 families! The kingdom of God is gowing in Denton. Thanks, Oblates, for all you've done for me and my family. I also wish we could have an alumni reunion.

I have helped people write their personal and family stories since 1988 (connect to our web site to get an idea of what tht is about). I have two children. (In 2003) my daughter Zoe is a graduate student at Concordia University in Montreal (BA in French from Universite de Montreal [I've just gotten a PC and haven't located the accents yet])). My son Maxim is a senior in college and he spent the last semester in Le Mans and this past summer studying French at McGill. My ministry brought me to Manville RI, Plattsburg NY, campus ministry in Orono ME, and finally Notre Dame de Lourdes in Lowell MA. I then did a career change into computer programming/analysis. I am now unemployed (self-employed) since the IT industry took a hard hit. My next step would be contracting with local companies and/or teaching computer skills in local colleges. The thought has crossed my mind to teach philosophy or some human/social skills to local organizations. A hobby is also woodworking, though my skills are mostly "learning on the job".

I spent many good years with the Oblates, serving at Notre Dame de Lourdes and Ste. Jeanne d'Arc, Lowell, then at the novitiate in Godfrey and finally at St. Peter's in Plattsburgh. In a reversal of a well known model, I first had a public life and then became a carpenter. I always loved working with my hands and am now a cabinetmaker. I work at Middlebury College but also have my own shop at home. My wife Claire also works at Middlebury College. We continue to have Oblate friends who visit regularly. I always remember fondly my teachers and classmates, most of whom I have never seen again since I left Bar Harbor in 1962. I have been reading your website from time to time for the last couple of years. What a great idea to have this alumni page! I owe much to the formation I received in Bucksport for any success I may have had in life. It would be great to hear from any of my classmates or teachers, for I see some of their names here on occasion. I note Fr. Sawyer's, who taught me English at Bar Harbor and who often contributes to the website. Thanks again for the chance to touch base, as it were, with a part of my now distant past.
