THE FUTURE IS IN GOD'S HANDSnNo one of us can predict the future, but the sowing of seeds and the planting of seedlings makes the present moment a time of hope and optimism. Perhaps the seed planted today will bear fruit in some mysterious way in the year 2050, or beyond! By means of this mid-year newsletter, your Oblate brothers in Baja California wish to say thank you for all the support you give us, through your prayers, letters and donations. Your generosity is very much appreciated, and you are remembered daily in our prayers and eucharist. |

THE VALUE OF AN EDUCATIONMore than 125 students are receiving scholarships of at least 300 dollars a year in order to persevere in their high school and university level education. Thank you to all those families and individuals from our sister parish, St. Bernadette in Scottsdale, AZ, who sponsor and befriend our youth through this scholarship program. This is truly an investment in the future, and all of us at Sagrada Familia Parish in Mexicali are very grateful. We are also very thankful for the support we receive from St. Bernadette Parish for our construction projects.
Some of the students who receive scholarships with Fr. Jose Gago,OMI, Frs. David Ullrich,OMI and David Kalert,OMI are in the background. |

THE HEALING TOUCHFathers Bob Callahan,OMI and Daniel Crahen,OMI continue to work non-stop in Tijuana. The big project at this time is the building of a clinic, which is the size of a small hospital. We can see the continuation of healing and saving ministry of Jesus in the work of Frs. Bob and Dan, who receive support from many generous people and who collaborate closely with the poor of their parish, San Eugenio. |
