College in Western Australia had these three icons made for the school. The artist's name is Marice Sariola. Marice was born in Finland and lived in Sweden for ten years before she migrated to Western Australia in 1989. In Sweden she was awarded the East Gothian Culture prize in 1986. Her style is close to two North Russian schools of Novgorod and Moscow. The first ikon is a depiction of Blessed Cebula's experience of being called to the ordained priesthood. The second ikon shows Cebula feeding the other prisoners in the camp. The third ikon shows his martyrdom. Read about Fr. Cebula's life |
