PREACHERS ON THE ROAD

We are a missionary Congregation. Our principal service in the Church is to proclaim Christ and his Kingdom to the most abandoned. We preach the Gospel among people who have not yet received it and help them see their own values in its light. (Constitution #5)

Our mission puts us on constant call to respond to the most urgent needs of the Church through various forms of witness and ministry, but especially through proclaiming the Word of God ... (Constitution # 7)

Preaching missions at home and sending missionaries abroad have been traditionally central to our apostolate. ... (Rule 7b)

In proclaiming the Word, it is our tradition to be simple and direct and to speak a language adapted to and easily understood by our hearers. ... (Rule 7g)

From the time of the Founder, the Oblates have been involved in the preaching ministry in a variety of situations and in a number of styles - from mission bands to retreat houses to parish priests. Preaching the Gospel of love and life have been central to who we are as Oblates of Mary Immaculate.

In the spirit of this tradition, the U.S. Province continues the commitment to the preaching ministry. Besides the preaching ministries at our retreat centers and shrines, there are some individuals, sometimes as members of a team, who have been commissioned by the US Province to conduct retreats, missions and other spiritual programs in parishes and for various groups. Below are some Oblates who can be contacted about special preaching requests:
