“This morning I received the news of the confirmation of the delegation council members for Zambia for the next three years. As you know, Fr. Raymond Mwangala was confirmed as delegation Superior a couple weeks ago.
I am very grateful to all these Oblates for their generous service of leadership. All of them are already in full-time ministry so their service of leadership shows a genuine desire, hope and promise to continue the good ministry of bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Zambia. Each one of them brings a unique perspective and insight to the council.
I am also grateful to Fr. Michael Kasonde, OMI, for continuing as delegation Treasurer. Fr. Raymond and Council will be installed Sunday, February 21, at Mary Immaculate Parish in Lusaka.
I plan to visit Zambia March 24- April 6, to meet with the Superior, Council and Treasurer as together, delegation and council, we continue to plan new ways and places of ministry, new ways to help bring about financial sustainability and a renewal of Oblate life in ministry and community.
